Ada 200: 200 Years of Outstanding Women in ICT in Europe

Objectives

The objective of this session is to encourage young women to pursue studies and careers in digital sectors through inspiring role model talks and "speed mentoring" between young women and experienced women in ICT, including winners of the 2014 European Ada Awards (http://adaawards.com).

00:20-00:40: Four 5-minute rounds of one-on-one "speed mentorship" talks between girls and women, including these women role models in ICT:

Expected outcome

Increase number of girls who consider studies and careers in the ICT sector;

Stimulate cross-generational dialogue and knowledge-sharing on the topic of ICT jobs and skills;

Community-building among girls and women in ICT beyond the event;

Increase visibility of Ada Lovelace as a role model for girls and women in tech and of Ada Awards initiative;

Promote 2014 Ada Award-winners (http://adaawards.com);

Create slipstream for potential nominees and participants in 2015 Ada Awards (nomination close 10 November 2014).
