Conference Programme

Data-Driven Economy

Session 8T - Auditorium 8, 22/10/2015 (09:00-10:30)

This session is part of the Transform track.

We are currently witnessing an industrial revolution driven by data. Technological advances in the field of Big Data allow for data collection and processing on an unprecedented scale.

The availability of enormous amounts of data offers great opportunities for decision-making and trend prediction applications. At the same time, advances in robotics allow not only to gather data, but also to carry out autonomous actions on this basis.

This session will showcase examples of the data-driven economy from various industrial sectors.

The EC perspective was presented by Giuseppe Abbamonte, Director of the 'Media and Data' Directorate, DG CONNECT.
