Next Generation Internet Flagship Inititave

Networking session

Future Networks & International, 26/09/2016 (15:00-16:00)

The European Commission launches a new flagship initiative aimed at enabling a Next Generation of the Internet.

For the preparation of this flagship initiative, the European Commission looks for a set of Coordination and Support actions:

a) identify those key future research topics and Internet technologies which will impact the market in 10 years from now,

b) build an open, dynamic and continuous consultation process engaging all relevant stakeholders in a long-term fashion,

c) shaping an innovative programme and ecosystems for a Next Generation Initiative flagship initiative, focussing on quick delivery and innovative concepts.

Proposals should address one of the three topics in order to establish the base for a future large scale research flagship initiative, prototype and validate new processes for research and innovation, mobilise new players indispensable for agile research comprising individuals or teams of researchers and high tech startups, build a dynamic and growing knowledge base of technological trends, initiatives and key players in the area of Next Generation Internet.

Hi, I invite everybody to share with the community ideas about this new initiative. Be brief and focus on what is important for an Internet in 2025, who are the key actors to be involved and how can such a programme function effectively.
