Bridging Research and Standardisation

Networking session

ICT standardisation is recognised as major contributor to innovation and increase of competitiveness of EU industry. ICT Standardisation is integral component to Research & Innovation projects, with two dimensions: (i)standardisation provides the technology base for many ICT related results that will be developed by the projects and (ii) R&I projects provide expertise and generates deliverables that can contribute to standards development organisation work programmes. The session will focus on how H2020 projects should interact with standardisation to ensure maximum advantage of innovation take-up.

This session intends to attract the interest of a wide range of stakeholders, with academia, ICT researchers and developers, industrialists including SMEs, representatives of NCPs and associations supporting H2020 proposers and H2020 participants in general. The session will consist of dynamic exchange of views between Commission officials, standardisation experts, experienced participants in R&I projects with proven contribution to standardisation activities, which will explain how H2020 projects can take advantage from and actively contribute to standardisation activities, and how this will increase the potential market take-up of their results.
