Nicoline Tamsma is Policy Officer at the Health Programme and Chronic Diseases Unit, DG for Health and Food Safety of the European Commission. As such, she is on secondment from the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM), the Netherlands. She has been working in the field of international affairs and European health policy in various capacities over the past 25 years based in the Netherlands, the UK and now Luxemburg.
Her longstanding involvement in the European health community includes (previous) roles as President of EuroHealthNet, member of the European Health Forum Gastein Advisory Committee and board member of the European Health Management Association (EHMA). A social scientist by training, she contributed to a wide range of EU-funded projects, e.g. on health systems reforms, management of integrated care, access to health services, and health equity.
