Since 1987, Nathalie Sauze-Vandevyver has held various positions within the European Commission civil service. She joined the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development (DG AGRI) in 1999. After 18 years in the Legal Directorate, she was nominated in October 2017 as director of the directorate Quality, Research and Innovation, Outreach. Her mission includes the promotion of research and innovation in the agricultural sector through the EU's research policy (Horizon 2020) and the European Innovation Partnership for Agricultural Productivity and Sustainability. In this capacity, she is in charge of research issues linked to bioeconomy.
