Elena Verdolini is senior scientist at EIEE and tenure track Assistant Professor of Political Economy at the Law Department, Università degli Studi di Brescia. Elena holds a degree in Political Science from the University of Pavia, a Master of Public Administration and a Master of Arts in International Studies from the University of Washington, Seattle and a Ph.D. in Economics and Finance of the Public Administration from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan.
Her main interest is in applied analysis, with a focus on the dynamics of innovation, technology transfer, green growth, and the economic impacts of environmental and energy policies. Elena has been involved in several internationally funded research projects. She is currently Work Package Leader in the Horizon 2020 project INNOPATHS, a major effort to characterise the EU energy transition, highlighting systemic barriers and enablers. She was one of the authors of the Deep Decarbonisation Pathways Project for Italy. She contributed to the final report of High-Level Panel of the European Decarbonisation Pathways Initiative on recommended R&I strategies for decarbonisation. She is a Lead Author of the sixth Assessment Report of the IPCC (Working Group III).
