Cheryl Baker is the Director of the Centre for Cybersecurity & Cybercrime Investigation (CCI) at University College Dublin. Having led CCI since its establishment in 2007, Cheryl is committed to the mission of supporting law enforcement in the fight against cybercrime, and is a strong advocate of active practitioner participation in research.
Cheryl is currently a partner in the Horizon2020 ILEAnet project, the objective of which is to develop a network to support better alignment between the needs of the security practitioner and relevant R&D project outputs. Cheryl is also coordinator of the Horizon2020 funded INSPECTr project in which eleven of the twenty partners are law enforcement bodies, some of which have seconded staff full time to the project to lead work packages and tasks. 30 per cent of the INSPECTr project budget has been set aside to support law enforcement participation.
Cheryl is a founding member of the European Cybercrime Training & Education Group (ECTEG) and a Board member of Cyber Ireland.
