Ena Voûte has been Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering at Delft University of Technology since 2012. Academic research and education are major activities of the design faculty she leads. Delft designers are creative yet realistic, human centred, tech savvy interventionists, inspired by the societal challenges we have ahead of us and the possibilities that new technologies can offer. The outcomes of the Faculty’s research and master graduation projects enthuse many people for their creativity and applicability, again and again.
Prior to her current role Ena spend 25 years in industry. She studied Industrial Design Engineering herself and carried out her graduation project on innovative packaging at Unilever in the UK. During the 90s, she worked for Unilever in a number of European countries, where she developed branding and marketing strategies for products including Magnum, Becel and Lipton.
At the start of this century, she was involved in the establishment of the financial comparison site Independer as its marketing director, and worked as an innovation consultant at Altuïtion. For the following nine years, she worked on personal care for women at Philips Consumer Lifestyle in a number of international roles and then worked for Philips Lighting.
Ena is married with two children.
