On the 16th and 17th of June 2015, 12 outstanding European startups were invited to London for some intense training and networking with Europe’s top venture capitalists and angel investors.
The selected candidates were introduced to the London startup scene and picked the brains of mentors, entrepreneurs, and investors at the top of their game. They learned how to improve their pitch by receiving valuable feedback for their presentation soft skills, dissected a term sheet in a live negotiation and networked in a private setting aboard the museum ship, HMS Belfast.
In a pitch battle on the 17th June a jury panel consisting of the 11 prestigious international venture capitalists and investment funds narrowed the 12 startups down to:
- The crowned winner:
TripRebel - a virtual travel agent, saving customers up to 30% on their hotel bookings, and 2 hours of searching time to get the best possible traveling options.
- Two runners up:
Watly - provides solutions to some of the fundamental and global human needs;
Winnow - helps the hospitality industry tackle avoidable food waste;
Both the runner ups and winner will go on to own the stage at Europe’s hottest tech conferences to showcase their progress throughout the rest of the year.
On the 18th of June TripRebel, Watly & Winnow attended the highly exclusive Founders Forum rubbing shoulders with Reid Hoffman, Niklas Zenstromm, Eric Schmidt and other successful tech innovators. The three were also invited and given special mention at Capital on Stage on June 30th, 2015.
The Roadshow will continue with TripRebel, Watly & Winnow owning the stage again at the NOAH conference in London on November 12th and 13th, 2015, to showcase their progress five months after the investor attention.
Through Tech All Stars, selected finalists have received other outstanding opportunities including a Wildcard for Watly directly for the selection days of EuropeanPioneers were they could receive €250,000.00 worth of equity free funding.
The final winner of Tech All Stars 2014 will also be invited to future Digital Agenda related events as a panelist to present their startup to the movers and shakers of the tech scene - voted the best in Europe.
Give Vision, software pioneers for the visually impaired, is invited to showcase their technology at the ICT conference in Lisbon, and Zoomsquare, the Austrian startup that matches people with homes the smart way received an exclusive membership at the new German Tech Entrepreneurship Center (GTEC) where they can easily access the German market from this premium connected hub.
