The Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) provides basic capabilities that can be reused in any European project to facilitate the delivery of digital public services across borders and sectors. As the CEF programme comes to an end in 2020, it needs to be considered how these basic capabilities can be sustained in the long-term. This study assesses the most relevant and credible solutions to continue providing such capabilities.
The Commission launched a public consultation on 12 May 2017 to collect input on whether the .eu legal framework still serves its purpose. The summary report provides an overview of the quantitative aspects and the main trends that emerged from the contributions.
The objective of the study on Spectrum assignments in the EU was to assess the specific elements, processes and conditions under which radio spectrum, in particular for 5G usage including wireless broadband, should be authorised and assigned by Member States and how timely access to spectrum can contribute more fully to the general objectives set out by the EU regulatory framework (SMART 2016/0019).
The European commission launched a Eurobarometer Flash survey to measure the awareness of the end of roaming charges in the EU and the impact this has had on citizens’ mobile use when travelling within the EU after 15 June 2017.
