The Study assesses the practices aimed at preventing and fighting .eu domain name registrations that are identical or confusingly similar to another rightfully recognised name. In particular, it evaluates the collaboration between relevant EU bodies, the .eu registration procedure and the .eu Alternative Dispute Mechanism.

The Commission launched a public consultation on 12 May 2017 to collect input on whether the .eu legal framework still serves its purpose. The summary report provides an overview of the quantitative aspects and the main trends that emerged from the contributions.
