      Efforts to integrate immigrants at local level hinge on the necessity to provide them with good quality public services. Easy access to local services that avoids bureaucracy helps them feel and act with more autonomy and to facilitate their successful integration. The EU-funded EASYRIGHTS project intends to support the co-creation of a system by different local actors that increases the quantity and quality of public services offered to immigrants.

    • QualiChain
      PROJECTS & INITIATIVES

      QualiChain targets the creation, piloting and evaluation of a decentralised platform for storing, sharing and verifying education and employment qualifications and focuses on the assessment of the potential of blockchain technology, algorithmic techniques and computational intelligence for disrupting the domain of public education, as well as its interfaces with private education, the labour market, public sector administrative procedures and the wider socio-economic developments.

      CO3 aims at assessing the benefits and risks of disruptive technologies, namely: blockchain, augmented reality, geolocated social network, liquid democracy tools and gamification, in the co-creation, co-production and co-management of public services with citizens as PAs partners. Augmented Reality becomes a single shared layer on the urban paysage and part of citizen’s public life, AR enables manipulation of financial objects built on blockchains, information sharing on a map, online deliberations and so constitutes an infrastructure for service co-production by citizens.

      "The REBUILD proposal address immigrant integration through the provision of a toolbox of ICT-based solutions that will improve both the management procedures of the local authorities and the life quality of the migrants.

      PROJECTS & INITIATIVES

      "NADINE project aim is to develop a novel way of integrating migrants and refugees through ICT-enabled solutions that will automatically adapt to the specificities of each person. The consortium agrees that one of the main enablers of migrants/refugees inclusion, in the host societies, is their ability to work. Hence NADINE's motto is ""Give migrants and refugees their dignity back by giving them a decent job with a decent salary"".

      PROJECTS & INITIATIVES

      MIICT, is conceived with the goal of designing, developing and deploying tools that address the challenge of migrant integration through the co-creation of improved ICT-enabled services with migrants, public sector services and NGOs (Non-Governmental-Organisations). Previous research has established that issues of integration, dissemination, employment (and unemployment), incapacity support and education rank highly among migrants of varying demographics; including different age groups, genders, education levels and immigration status [1].

      PROJECTS & INITIATIVES

      "In ""MICADO: Migrant Integration Cockpits and Dashboards"", experts from public administration, migration research, and IT create an EU-wide applicable business intelligence solution in support of migrant integration, and pilot it in Antwerp, Bologna, Hamburg, and Madrid. The solution leverages existing and new data to design attractive digital services for three user groups: 1) public authorities for labour, health, education and housing, 2) engaged civic society, and 3) migrants and refugees.

      This proposal suggests that taking a strategic approach – in the most fundamental sense - to the renewal of organization and management of European public administrations is a key requirement for the bettering of public governance and citizens’ participation across Europe.

      PROJECTS & INITIATIVES

      The main goal of Co-VAL is to discover, analyse, and provide policy recommendations for transformative strategies that integrate the co-creation of value in public administrations. The project aims to accomplish these objectives by conducting research on the paradigm shift from the traditional top-down model to demand and bottom-up driven models when citizens, civil servants, private, and third sector organizations voluntarily participate in the development of transformative innovations addressing changing needs and social problems.
