Following the launch of its Artificial Intelligence Strategy in 2018, the European Commission appointed a group of 52 experts to advice for its implementation. The group members were selected following an open selection process and comprised representatives from academia, civil society and industry.

The European Commission’s approach on Artificial Intelligence is one of excellence and trust. It deals with technological, ethical, legal and socio-economic aspects to boost EU's research and industrial capacity and to put AI and robots at the service of European citizens and the economy.
