Consumers should be able to make a well-informed choice when choosing an electronic communications service. In order to facilitate choice, providers should present a summary of essential contract terms. The required relevant information, including information about price and duration of the contract, should be provided in clear and understandable language. This workshop will gather feedback on using a contract summary template for electronic communications service and will present existing templates in Member States.

The new rules on information requirements for contracts in Article 102 of the European Electronic Communications Code (Directive (EU) 2018/1972) Code require that the Commission shall adopt an implementing act in 2019 specifying a contract summary template to be used by the providers. Article 102 includes a list of main elements to be included in the contract summary.

DG CONNECT is organising a workshop in order to gather feedback directly from stakeholders, including end-users, providers and Member States.

This workshop will take place in Brussels at DG CONNECT premises on Thursday, 14th February 2019. This workshop is by invitation only. The Commission has invited organisations that represent end-users, providers and Member States to participate in order to ensure a balanced representation of key stakeholders.
