The European Commission organised a workshop on software tools and methods, with a specific focus on software development for Cyber-Physical Systems, industrial and time-critical applications used in sectors like aerospace, automotive, transport and automation sectors.

The objective of the workshop, held in Brussels on 24/6/2014, was to discuss the state of the art and the future perspectives in view of the expected evolution of computing hardware.

A small number of experts were asked to participate and to advice the European Commission on future actions and directions for the research and innovation work programme. The key subjects discussed are described in the report and in the summary slides below.
