The first part of the training session will comprise presentations and discussions with speakers from the following institutions:
- European Commission
- BCO Network Support Facility
- ENRD Contact Point
- EIP-AGRI Service Point
- Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering (IESE), Germany
The second part of the training session will comprise a field trip outside Brussels. Participants will visit the Opticable factory in Frameries, which produces optical fibre. This will be followed by a presentation by the Hainaut Higher Education Network in Mons, a good practice project demonstrating how optical fibre combined with hertzian technologies is used to connect schools and educational institutions, creating a unique digital campus.
This is the fourth training session organised by the BCO Network Support Facility in partnership with DGs CNECT, AGRI, REGIO and COMP.
These training sessions are part of a capacity-building knowledge-exchange programme run by the BCO Network Support Facility in order to connect and strengthen the BCO Network, support broadband roll-out in urban, rural and remote regions, and contribute to achieving the EU Digital Single Market and Gigabit Society objectives.
