This brochure gives an overview of roaming in the European Union. Roaming charges ended for Europeans travelling within the EU countries on 15 June 2017. It took 10 years to eliminate these roaming surcharges.

Europeans can roam like at home and pay domestic prices for roaming calls, SMS and data in the EU. The EU started to regulate the roaming prices in 2007. Since the roaming was eliminated, the use of roaming data in the EU and European Economic Area countries increased by twelve times.
