The European Commission has launched public consultations regarding six technical ICT specifications. The consultations are based on the advice provided by the European multi-stakeholder platform on ICT standardisation, an advisory expert group on all matters related to ICT standardisation.

The objective of the consultations is to gather comments from a wide public before identifying ICT technical specifications which may be eligible for referencing in public procurement. All interested citizens and stakeholders are invited to submit written comments on the questions raised to provide the Commission with the best evidence base for its decision. The consultations are regarding:
