Progress in technologies such as photonics (...) is changing the way we design, produce, commercialise and generate value from products and related services. (...) Close to a third of the growth of the overall industrial output in Europe is already due to the uptake of digital technologies.
These last 3 years of the H2020 Work Programme will continue to support core ICT industries through roadmap-based Public Private Partnerships (PPPs). The work will contribute to maintaining and developing the technology leading edge in key areas in which the EU has and should keep major strengths.
Photonics topics include four new manufacturing pilot lines for photonics components and devices, two in 2018 and two in 2019. In 2018 calls are open for Innovation Actions and Research and Innovation Actions for photonics based manufacturing, datacom photonics and connected lighting, while in 2019 the focus will be on application driven photonics components. In 2020 a call will be launched for Photonics Innovation Hubs and further for distruptive photonics technologies and for advancing photonics technologies and application drive photonics compontents and the innovation ecosystem.
The info session will be from 9:00 to 12:30. Presentations will be given about the next photonics calls in H2020 and lessons learnt during the past years. There will be opportunity for questions and discussion. Special attention will be dedicated to the pilot lines.
