Between 2018 and 2020, the WiFi4EU initiative has distributed more than 8900 vouchers across 30 participating countries, for a total budget of over EUR 130 million. The response from municipalities to the WiFi4EU calls for applications went beyond the expectations: in all four calls, the demand has widely exceeded the number of vouchers available. WiFi4EU has thus revealed a strong local demand for expanding the offer of Wi-Fi services to citizens. Municipalities across Europe are eager to use WiFi4EU to foster local e-commerce and tourism economy, and to bring citizens closer to public services.
Below a summary of the vouchers granted to each participating country.
