A new European Research Project launched in May 2011 develops new driving strategies and driver assistance systems that significantly increase the efficiency, driving range, and safety of electric vehicles. OpEneR stands for "Optimal Energy consumption and Recovery based on a system network". OpEneR n°2 prototype was successfully tested in July 2013 on one of AVL's 4-wheel dynometer testbeds in Graz for more than four weeks. The list of tests covered the evaluation of traction control, recuperation, lateral vehicle dynamics, validation measurements for the improvement of simulation models and more.
