The EU’s MEDIA programme, created in 1991, supports Europe’s audiovisual sector and since then has invested over €2.4 billion on content, creativity and cultural diversity in Europe. The MEDIA programme's current budget - €820 million for 2014 to 2020-, comes to an end soon. Actions on how the next MEDIA Programme can help the audiovisual industry to take further advantage of the possibilities offered by online distribution and online viewing are on the discussion table.
