The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) aims at connecting European researchers and providing them with world-class data infrastructures and cloud-based services. To that end, the EOSC is developing enabling services that will allow researchers to access existing infrastructures and services.

e-IRG, the e-Infrastructure Reflection Group organised a workshop in May 2018 in Sofia, Bulgaria with a specific focus on the development of e-Infrastructures in South-Eastern European and Eastern-Mediterranean region. Following this workshop, Augusto Burgueño-Arjona, the Head of the eInfrastructure and Science Cloud Unit in European Commission's Directorate General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG CONNECT) had the opportunity to present the current state of play of the EOSC.
