A match-making brokerage day takes place on 28 May 2019 in Brussels for the call on European Network of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Excellence Centres. Besides the presentation from the European Commission on information needed to participate in the call for proposals, the event offers a networking opportunity for representatives of Excellence Centers. This call expects to mobilise the best research teams and the most prominent experts in the field.

The call for proposal “ICT-48-2020: Towards a vibrant European network of AI excellence centres” is planned to open in July with a deadline of November 13, 2019. The pre-publication of the workprogramme (call text) is now available here.

During this Information and Brokerage day, representatives from the European Commission will present the details of the call for proposals, and this brokerage day will offer opportunities for networking and match-making for the participants. The brokerage day takes place in the Madou building in the auditorium on the ground floor on 28 May, 2019 in Brussels. To get an idea of the schedule please have a look at the agenda.

Registration will be on first-in, first-served basis, and limited to one participant per organisation (“excellence centre”), the others will be put on reserve list. The deadline to register is May 12.

The Coordinated plan on Artificial Intelligence announced: “The Commission plans to fund networks of AI research excellence centres with EUR 50 million in 2020 through Horizon 2020, supporting collaborative research addressing industrial and scientific challenges identified by such networks in joint research agendas.”

“The objective is to foster cooperation among the best research teams in Europe, joining forces to tackle more efficiently major scientific and technological challenges in AI and mobilise industry to be integrated in and find synergies with the research teams.“
