The aim of this Estonian presidency event conference is to demonstrate to policymakers that excellent research is essential to addressing Europe’s challenges and for increasing competitiveness. The 2016 Innovation Radar Prize winner and FET project PUFFIN coordinator, Pim Tuyls, CEO of Intrinsic ID will be one of invited speakers.

The FET project PUFFIN coordinator and CEO of Intrinsic ID, Pim Tuyls, winner of the 2016 Innovation Radar Prize will be one of the inviated speakers in the  first plennary session "Expecting the unexpected: frontier research brings the future closer" . This session will aim to make a case for why Europe needs investment in bottom-up, interdisciplinary and visionary research.

In its final session, there will be a  conference declaration, the Tallinn call for action, that will be handed over to stakeholders. It will include the main messages of the conference, emphasising the role of excellent research in the context of a changing research environment and a changing Europe.
