The new Framework Programme for Research and Innovation - Horizon 2020 - and its first annual Work Programme will be adopted on 11th December 2013. The first call for proposals (first funding round) will be published at the same time.

Societal Challenge "Health, demographic change and wellbeing" (SC1) will include topics such as Extending active and independent living, Self-management of health, Service robotics, Independent living with cognitive impairments, Early risk detection and intervention, Promoting mental wellbeing in the ageing population, Integrated care. There will be a specific call for coordinated support to the activities of the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing, and another for support to the Joint Programming Initiative "More Years, Better Lives - the Challenges and Opportunities of Demographic Change".

The draft programme is being made public just before the adoption process of the work programmes to provide potential participants with the currently expected main lines of the work programmes 2014-2015. They are working documents not yet endorsed by the Commission and their contents does not in any way prejudge the final decision of the Commission.
