In May 2015, the European Commission presented a strategy to create a Digital Single Market where people and businesses can make the most of what digitalisation offers. This includes EU actions to support training in digital skills and coding for everyone.
An example is the French project Simplon.co which offers free innovative intensive training schemes in digital skills. These schemes are aimed at disadvantaged and young people. The aim of these training schemes is to reduce the digital divide and provide skilled workforce for the growing European digital economy.”
