Estonian Broadband Strategy prepared by the Estonian Association of Information Technology and Telecommunications (ITL). The purpose of it is to propose an action plan and organisational model for transition to the modern information society infrastructure in Estonia that contributes foremost to a better business and living environment in rural areas. The document gives a comprehensive overview of how the information and communications technologies influence the economy, environment and society and the examples of the other countries’ experience in this area. The document relies on a survey ordered by the ITL from Ericsson Eesti AS, which questioned the representatives of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications, the Competition Board, the Technical Surveillance Authority and nine electronic communications operators in Estonia.
