The six 2015 CREA summer academies brought together 133 participants. 7 new summer academies will be organised in 2016, targeting ICT students, PhD candidates and graduates with a business idea.

During the first year of activity CREA Summer Academy project reached more than 300.000 people collecting more than 800 connections and 240 finalized applications.

Local juries have selected the best 133 participants divided in 71 teams each of whom with an early stage idea of start-up. During the 6 European summer academies (in UK, Netherland, Slovenia, Estonia, Germany and Italy) and through the training, prototyping and mentoring sessions 32 business ideas were developed with a feasible business model. Only the best 12 start-up ideas have been selected to pitch at the CREA ICT Business Idea Contest hosted by the ICT 2015 European Commission Event in Lisbon.

The Jury composed by experts, incubators, investors and business angels from all over Europe, selected the best 3 Ideas: HOMEY, MUSA, BOLT. The winning teams will have the possibility to be incubated in one of the business incubators involved in the CREA network to develop their Ideas in a real start-up company.

The CREA Consortium is now working on the next edition’s call will be launch in the beginning of 2016. The call will be published on the CREA website and on www.f6s.com/crea, and it will be open to students, PhD candidates, graduates with a business idea with an impact in Europe.
