This workshop will look at how social innovation can offer civil society and grass-root communities real measurable benefits, given the right business models and the support of shared data platforms. The Commission's Net Innovation Unit and the CAPS projects invite you to this social innovation showcase session (9:00 to 12:30 a.m.) at the Net Futures conference, taking place on 20 April 2016.

Presentations will be given by IA4SI, the team that carried out the impact and self-assessments from all 10 CAPS Call 1 projects and by the CHEST project which crowdfunded and crowdsourced social innovation ideas and eco-sustainable prototyping through 3 cascading calls.

The startups and individuals selected via the CHEST calls visibly show why a wider societal uptake of digital social innovation is a clear winner. A question and answer session will then provide recommendations on how to overcome barriers for wider uptake of digital social innovation initiatives. With your help we will identify what measures are needed to assure this innovation continues in the context of the Horizon2020 programme.

Participation is free of charge, but only registered participants to Net Futures will be admitted. When registering, please indicate that you will attend a pre-conference session and use the following registration code: NF16-CNCT-E3. For any further information about the workshop contact
