The European Commission has developed a "Digitising European Industry" strategy to make sure that any business in Europe has access to the latest advances in ICT and can make the best use of them. One main focus to implement this vision is to ensure European leadership in digital platforms for industry.

The objective of the Digitising European Industry strategy is to foster research and innovation ecosystems for European platforms to emerge: actors across value chains, including users and suppliers need to collaborate in order to ensure the availability of state of the art open digital platforms that any business can use to innovate its products, processes or services.

The European Research and Innovation Programme Horizon 2020 calls for proposals for the development of such platforms in the field of collaborative manufacturing and logistics processes and factory automation. The call has been presented at ICT2015. Click here for additional info.

The available budget is 51 Mn EUR for Research and Innovation Actions (RIA) and a Coordination and Support Action (CSA).

As background info about the topic of the call you can check here the outcome of the workshop on "Platforms for connected Factories of the Future".
