On the 15th of May a BCO Network group representing 17 member states was received in the Hauts-de-France Region where they had a presentation of the French experience in planning and implementing broadband in the Nord - Pas de Calais. The presentation was complemented with a visit to the Douvrin Optical Fiber Plant.
On the 16th of May almost 50 participants discussed in three independent sessions on Broadband Mapping issues, Cost Reduction Directive and Demand Aggregation. National BCOs and EC experts, moderated by the BCO-SF, shared best practices and identified common challenges in the areas of discussion.
This event was organised as one of the activities foreseen in the BCO-SF Annual Work Plan. Mr. Herve Dupuy, Deputy Head of Unit at DG CNECT - B5 Investment in High-Capacity Networks, concluded the two days thematic group: “This is not the end, this is just the first step of a future closer collaboration”
