The 2018 B-Day will focus on the recent proposals for the post-2020 Multi-annual Financial Framework, and in particular the Digital part of the new Connecting Europe Facility (CEF).

Other discussion topics will include the new Code for European electronic communications, the launch of the Connecting Europe Broadband Fund (CEBF), the WiFi4EU initiative, and the other tools developed in order to reach the Gigabit Society strategic objectives by 2025:

  • 19 November 2018 - Broadband Awards: Meet the broadband projects that made a difference in five different fields of activity. This is a unique opportunity to share your experience beyond your borders and, after the ceremony, network with the representatives of the projects highlighted as best practices in Europe.
  • 20 November 2018 - B-Day conference: Come and take an active part in the forum of the main actors involved in regulation, financing and broadband deployment across Europe: institutional funding partners (Commission, EiB), project promoters – be they telecom operators or local authorities –  broadband competence offices, etc.

Panels will be tackling questions such as: How will the next Connecting Europe Facility support broadband deployment? What regulatory novelties in the eCode for promoting the best in class networks in Europe? What best practices for business and financing models?
