The European Commission has awarded prizes to Europe's most promising innovations emerging from EU funded research and innovation projects. Nanocargo, from Wrocław University of Science and Technology in Poland, won the Innovation Radar 2020 Prize for their lead role in developing targeted nanoparticles-based cure for breast cancer. The awards ceremony took place at the Research & Innovation Days on 24 September 2020. In addition to the Grand Prix prize, three other EU-funded innovators also secured prizes at the awards ceremony.

The Commission has just launched the Innovation Radar prize 2020, the 6th edition of an initiative that celebrates high potential innovations – and the innovators behind them – developed in EU-funded research and innovation projects.

A new support action – Dealflow – focused on helping innovators get their EU-funded innovations ‘out of the lab’ and into the market has been launched. Its targeted services are on offer and prioritised for innovators who have already been analysed by the Commission’s Innovation Radar.

Sweden has joined the Innovation Radar, an initiative supported by the European Commission, which identifies high potential innovations and the key innovators behind them in Horizon 2020 projects.

After three weeks of public voting, the decision has been made: out of 36 dynamic European innovators longlisted for this year’s Innovation Radar Prize, 12 will move to the next phase and compete in the final.

The finalists come from every corner of Europe, from SMEs, universities and start-ups and are delivering a diverse set of scientific and technological breakthroughs. They have been identified through the European Commission's Innovation Radar, a data-driven engine that aims to identify high potential innovations and the key innovators behind them.

Cyprus has become the twenty-second country to sign the Innovation Radar declaration.

The European Commission has awarded Europe's most promising digital innovations emerging from EU funded research and innovation projects. Gr3n (pronounced ‘green’) from Switzerland won the 2018 Innovation Radar Prize for for their breakthrough technology for ‘upcycling’ PET / polyester. The awards ceremony took place at the European Commission's ICT 2018 in Vienna, Austria on 6 December. Five other EU-funded innovators also secured prizes at the awards ceremony.

The FIWARE ICT Challenge is a developers’ competition taking place at the ICT 2018 event. Participants will create apps that make cities a better place to live in, using real-time data from cities and other data sources, together with FIWARE open source components.

After 2 weeks of public voting, the decision is in! 48 dynamic European innovators were longlisted for this year's Innovation Radar Prize. Twenty of those will now move to the next phase and compete in Innovation Radar Prize final, having succeeded in securing the most votes.
