These proposals will be evaluated by scientific experts in two steps. In this first step, the scientific excellence and impact of the proposals are evaluated. The successful ones will be invited to submit a more detailed proposal by 18 September for the second step of the evaluation. Results will be announced by end of the year and funding for a one year preparatory phase will be granted to up to six proposals for new FET-Flagships in the following areas:

  • ICT and Connected Society,
  • Health and Life Sciences,
  • Energy, Environment and Climate change.

FET Flagships are science- and technology-driven, large-scale, multidisciplinary research initiatives built around a visionary unifying goal. They tackle grand science and technology challenges requiring cooperation among a range of disciplines, communities and programmes.
