Biography

The Public Libraries 2030 Programme gathers 65.000 public libraries across the EU and run by the Reading & Writing Foundation. She manages the Brussels team, their Advisory group and other strategic relationships within the Programme and is responsible for strategic guidance and management. The programme is run by the Melinda and Bill Gates Foundation.

Ilona previously served as Secretary General of Culture Action Europe, a European Umbrella association promoting arts and cultural associations across Europe. She has extensive experience advocating towards the EU institutions and running awareness-raising campaigns, as well as a thorough working knowledge of both the operational and political functions of the various EU institutions.

Ilona is also member of the Governing Board of the Digital Skills and Jobs Coalition.
