The Digital Assembly 2017 will take place on 15 and 16 June in Valletta, Malta. It is an event co-organised by the European Commission and the Maltese Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The Digital Assembly 2017 #da17eu, is an opportunity for stakeholders to debate, take stock and look ahead at how Europe and how its partners around the world are preparing for this digital transformation. It will also be an opportunity to have a dialogue on the benefits of the Digital Union for citizens with a special focus on our younger generations.

The Digital Assembly 2017

The Digital Assembly 2017 will be held in the outstanding setting of the Mediterranean Conference Centre/MCC in the historic centre of Valletta, Malta on Thursday 15 and Friday 16 June 2017.

The event starts 15 June at 12:00. After the networking lunch, the Digital Assembly will kick off with a high-level opening ceremony and international panel discussions.

On Friday 16 June, four thematic working sessions will focus on the key priorities:

  • Data economy
  • New digital opportunities
  • Cybersecurity and Internet of Things
  • Digital transformation

The Digital Assembly 2017 ends with a panel of young people discussing on expectations and ideas for the digital economy and society, before a closing cerimony.

The Digital Tomorrow Video Contest

The 'Digital Tomorrow' video contest  has been launched in the context of the 60th Anniversary and the White Paper debate on the Future of Europe. Young people across Europe, between 16-25 years old, have created videos on their vision of the digital world in 2025. The winners will participate in the Digital Assembly 2017 in Malta and their videos will be show to the participants of the Assembly.
