Description / Explanation

The implementation of high speed broadband throughout the county had shown that it was also important to support SMEs in developing ICT practises and tools to take full advantage of the connectivity. Therefore, Nièvre Numérique decided to implement a programme of training and consultancy services aimed at SMEs, and to locate this support in a dedicated resource center called ILAB. The aim of the ilab is to improve ICT use in SMEs to develop business and customer services. This project is also about improving business efficiency and competitiveness. Public sector is also a target of ILAB to developed ICT projects such as e-administration, e-education etc. The rural village of Lormes, département Niévre, was chosen to become a pilot project of roll-out of an optical fiber network (100 Mbit/s), making it a “digital village”.
