Major rail, air and other transport companies have joined the European Commission to make people travelling in the EU aware of 112 - Europe's single emergency number.

Whether for holidays or work-related trips, hundreds of thousands of Europeans travel across Europe every year. People, therefore, need to know the emergency number.

For this purpose, in 2012, transport companies helped promote 112 by publicising the number on e-tickets, on-board magazines, their company websites and through their staff.
