Introduction to the report (pdf)
The EDPR report combines the quantitative evidence from DESI (Digital Economy and Society Index) with country-specific policy insights, allowing us to keep track of the progress made in terms of digitalisation by each Member State and providing an important feedback loop for policy-making at EU level.
Document endorsed in December 2015 by the Digital Agenda High Level Group, after consultation of Member States representatives and the Eurostat working group on Information Society Statistics. The Framework is based on the analysis of past data collections, output from the Community Surveys on ICT Usage and e-Commerce in Enterprises, and on ICT usage in households and by individuals. It defines new areas and data sources to be exploited in the future, and proposes a list of key indicators.
The Report by The Conference Board highlights the importance of unlocking ICT's growth potential in Europe and calls for a strategic vision for Europe to be ready to drive the new wave (mobile broadband, cloud computing, Big Data, Internet of Things).
