112 in Slovenia

112 is one of the emergency numbers in Slovenia

112 calls are answered on average within 5 seconds. In addition to Slovenian, the calls can be answered in English. In certain areas, they can also be answered in Italian and Hungarian. It is not possible to call 112 from a mobile phone without a SIM card.

According to the latest E-communications household and telecom single market survey, 50% of Slovenians know they can use 112 everywhere in the EU.

Disabled people can use WAP 112 and SMS 112. Deaf and people with hearing problems are informed about 112 through the Web portal Zveza.

The European emergency number 112 is not the only emergency number in Slovenia:

  • 122 - fire brigade,
  • 128 - gas-related emergency,
  • 133 - police,
  • 140 - mountain rescue,
  • 141 - doctors,
  • 142 - telephone counselling,
  • 144 - rescue/ambulance,
  • 147 - emergency services for children and young people.
