112 in the Czech Republic

112 is one of the emergency numbers in the Czech Republic.

112 calls are answered on average within 5 seconds. The calls can be answered not only in Czech, but also in English, German, Polish, Russian and French with the help of translating software. It is possible to call 112 from a mobile phone even without a SIM card.

According to the latest  E-communications household and telecom single market survey, 60% of Czechs know they can use 112 everywhere in the EU.

The European emergency number 112 is not the only emergency number in the Czech Republic:

  • 150 – fire brigade,
  • 155 – rescue/ambulance,
  • 156 – metropolitan police,
  • 158 – police.

For disabled end-users, there are special call centres.
