112 is one of the emergency numbers in Belgium.

Calls to 112 are answered in French, Dutch and English. In some cases they may also be answered in German. The average time to answer a 112 call is 7 seconds. You cannot call 112 from a mobile phone without a SIM card.

According to the latest E-communications household and telecom single market survey, 65% of Belgians know they can use 112 everywhere in the EU.

The European emergency number 112 is not the only emergency number in Belgium:

  • 100 - medical emergency and fire brigade,
  • 101 - police.

Disabled people can contact 112 by SMS or fax.
