Event summary

This Hands-on Webinar aims to showcase the sending of AS4 messages using eDelivery. During the Webinar attendees will have the opportunity to send an AS4 message and get real-time support.

Participants to this Webinar will also learn about:

  • The Digital Europe Programme (DEP) eDelivery and how it's Shaping Europe's digital future
  • An overview of the state of play of the building blocks in DEP
  • The eDelivery specifications
  • Domibus - the European Commission open source sample implementation based on the eDelivery AS4 profile that can be used to get familiar with the technical specifications in a test environment or can work as a solution in a production environment

The target audience for this session are technical representatives of policy projects interested in reusing eDelivery, and in particular Domibus, for exchanging electronic data and documents among public administrations, businesses and citizens, in an interoperable, secure, reliable and trusted way.

Please make sure you have the following tools installed on your (virtual) computer as they will be used during the hands-on:

  • SoapUI - used to generate a SOAP message on the Web Service interface of Domibus
  • Docker Desktop - used to start two Domibus instances to showcase the AS4 message exchange
(In case you have older versions of docker, make sure you also have Docker Compose installed)

In case you want to be able to also receive AS4 messages, you need to make sure port <X> on your (virtual) computer is reachable from the public Internet (please prepare and test all firewall, router and/or port redirect configurations in advance as it will be impossible to troubleshoot reachability issues during the webinar).

She has a strong understanding and practical experience in creating robust SOAP and REST web-services using J2EE technologies, SOA principles and enhanced knowledge on the B2B communication area, ebMS3.0 standard, e-Delivery AS4 profile, SOAPwA protocol, x.509 digital certificates for encryption and signing.

About eDelivery:

The former CEF, currently Digital Europe, eDelivery building block helps public administrations and businesses (and indirectly citizens) to participate in eDelivery Messaging Infrastructures which facilitate organisation-to-organisation messaging by enabling their systems to interact with each other in a secure, reliable and trusted way. The Digital Europe Programme, is currently promoting the adoption of common standards in the eDelivery Messaging Infrastructures in different policy domains (Business Registers, eJustice, eProcurement, etc.).

About the building blocks:

The building blocks provide basic services which can be reused to enable more complex digital public services offered to citizens, businesses and public administration. They provide reusable tools and services helping to underpin the Digital Single Market, that aims to remove digital regulatory barriers, contributing as much as EUR 415 billion per year to the European economy. The Digital Europe Portal is the home of the CEF building blocks (eDeliveryeIDeInvoicingeSignature and eTranslation). It is the one-stop-shop for information about the building blocks. The portal provides access to tools, services and software that can be used in any European project to facilitate the delivery of digital public services across borders.
