What is the maximum number of certificates that can be issued to any one Domain?
Answer
The eDelivery PKI GTC document sets a limit of 60 certificates.
The limit is there because our service is a bootstrapping / early lifecycle one (i.e., to be used in the first few years of projects that don’t have that many Access Points); it is not meant to be used extensively for the entire lifecycle of the project if the project grows.
Once this threshold is (close to be) reached, the expectation is to find new arrangements for obtaining certificates (e.g., certificates can be bought from the private market by each participant, the project owner can set up shared procurement to distribute certificates to MS, etc.).
