Dear eDelivery community,

We are happy to announce a public consultation on the proposed modularisation of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) eDelivery specifications.

The European Commission announced this in October 2017.

The CEF eDelivery team proposes to modularise its profile into a common core module with a number of optional, independent add-on modules. This modularisation will lead to a larger combined market for providers of AS4 solutions and at the same time continuity and backward compatibility with the previous versions of the profiles for which the market already provides solutions and which are currently in production.

In addition to the AS4 profile, other CEF eDelivery specifications have been revised to be in line with each other.

The new versions of the eDelivery specifications are not yet in force, but have the status "eDelivery Community Draft" until the public consultation is closed.

The eDelivery Community Drafts contain a summary of the changes in the "History" section at the bottom of the page.

Please note that, as indicated in last year's announcement of the modularisation, software solutions that are currently conformant to the e-SENS AS4 profile will still be conformant to the modularised profile. Specifically, they will be conformant to the "Common Profile" and the "Four Corner Topology" Profile Enhancement. Once the new specifications are in force, software solutions will have the option to become conformant to the other Profile Enhancements as well.

You can access the eDelivery Community Drafts via the following links:

The public consultation will run for 6 weeks, until

Please post your comments below this page or send them to CEF-EDELIVERY-SUPPORT@ec.europa.eu with [eDelivery specifications public consultation] in the title of the email.

Kind regards,

The CEF eDelivery team
