For projects, that requires large transfer of data (gigbabites) between Organisations.

Is eDelivery able to transfer large files ?

Is eDelivery aimed for any Commission domain to exchange with other Organisations?

Step-by-step guide

  1. For the large files:

eDelivery supports up to 2GB by default.

The recently adopted Split & Join profile enhancement (i.e., an optional part of the eDelivery specification, that is to date only implemented by Domibus – the sample implementation of the eDelivery specification – but not of any of the other conformant products) this limit is removed and larger files can be transported

  1. eDelivery is not specifically aimed at any particular domain, but absolutely deployable in any area where secure file or document exchange is required, which seems to be your case.

To achieve this:

Both the Domain and each of the Organisation would need to install and operate an eDelivery Access Point that will mediate the exchange.

Where the Domain is concerned, an alternative to installing and operating its own eDelivery Access Point is to use the EU Send service, which provides an eDelivery Access Point as a service. EU Send is a corporate service, not available to Organisations, so they would still need to install and operate their own eDelivery Access Points.

If the Split & Join profile enhancement is needed, the Organisation would, for now, only be able to select Domibus as the product to install, but this may change in the future, when further products may implement this enhancement.
