<p style="font-size:16px; font-family:verdana;"> Firstly, CEF Telecom supports Member States setting-up a network of national eHealth Contact Points, that enable the cross-border exchange of data about patients and prescriptions in the form of ePrescriptions and Patient Summaries. This increases the continuity of care, patient safety, their access to highly specialised care and the sustainability of health systems. In addition, the creation of <a href="https://ec.europa.eu/health/ern_en">European Reference Networks</a> is also supported. These are virtual networks involving healthcare providers across Europe. European Reference Networks aim to facilitate discussion on complex or rare diseases and conditions that require highly specialised treatment, and concentrated knowledge and resources.
<br/><br/> The Core Service Platform for ePrescriptions and the Patient Summary supports the development and maintenance of the artefacts necessary to enable cross-border exchange of ePrescription and Patient Summaries by the eHealth Digital Service Infrastructure deploying countries. Generic Services Projects for ePrescriptions and the Patient Summary supported Member States to set up their National Contact Points for eHealth to start exchanging cross-border ePrescription and Patient Summary data.
<br/><br/> The Core Service Platform for the European Reference Networks includes the Clinical Patient Management Systems and the European Reference Networks Collaborative Platform allowing secure sharing of patient data and secure communication and information delivery. Generic Services Projects for European Reference Networks served to set up the customized Operational Helpdesk that serve as a first line help for all European Reference Networks members and facilitates their use of the Clinical Patient Management Systems. </p> |
