The primary ambition of the Early Adopters Programme is to scale up the use of Verifiable Credentials (VCs) and reach a critical mass, while the secondary ambition is to extend the potential reach of the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI). The programme aims to pilot Verifiable Credentials to test scenarios that work across borders, such as applying for a job. The programme also aims to pilot solutions that enable end-to-end exchange of credentials, including issuance, storage, and verification, and to eventually move these solutions into production. In addition, the EAP strives to pilot Verifiable Credentials in at least one new domain and/or in at least one new use case family, such as Traceability, in addition to Verification. To materialise this ambition, the EAP objectives are to test the EBSI specifications, develop cross-border scenarios, and promote interoperability between Member States. |
